Beer Love

I love nothing more than drinking an ice-cold beer on a hot day or a chocolate stout on a cold day or a pumpkin beer on a fall day…ok, ok, so I think there’s a beer for every day of the year because I LOVE beer.  Although I am in no way a beer expert and I sometimes have a hard time describing the complex flavors in a brew, I know what I like.

I wanted to create a beer page as a way to keep a record of all the beers I’ve tried both for myself and for other beer lovers out there. I’m not knowledgeable enough to critique beer and write legitimate reviews (yet), so this page is merely a compilation of beers I’ve blogged about (and liked!). I’m not going to bother listing really common beers that we all love (or hate, uh hmm, Miller Lite) and I’m also only going to list beers I’ve tried and liked since beginning my blog (too many to remember before then!). Please let me know if you have any questions. Cheers!

Nice page! If you like the BBC Bourbon Barrel Stout, try the one by Goose Island. It’s strong and delicious.

Lady, you know how we roll! My personal all-time favorite beer is Breckenridge Brewery’s Vanilla Porter (I’ll even drink it in the summer…hah).

That’s one of my absolute favorites as well!!! I used to get that beer at Brixx pizza for $2.50 when I lived in NC….

After seeing Southern Tier Pumpking on both your and Kath’s blog, I developed a slight obsession with tracking it down in Boston. Do you know if they are available bottled in stores, or only via tap at bars?

    • Laura September 18, 2010 at 3:37 pm #

I think it’s available in some stores because I believe Kath tried it when she was at home. I checked my local store and didn’t see it…maybe try the Publick House Provisions store because I had it at Publick House last night!

I’m not sure where abouts you live but there is a liquor store in Rockland (about 20 mins from Boston) that carries most of Southern Tiers brews. They have an unreal selection of microbrews and craftbeers. It’s called Luke’s Liquors and its near Weymouth/Hingham. Definitely worth a trip because you’ll inevitably find SO many fun things to bring home with you!

Hey! I just found your blog through your sisters blog. I am originally from Boston! You’ll have to make the trek up to Woodstock, NH to go to the Woodstock Brewery. It’s everything you’d expect from a New Hampshire/New England brewery. I really like the Loon Pale Ale and the Pemi.
It’s an Inn too! Surprising? Probably not.

Oh my – did I just find my co-founder of the NASP CBTC (Craft Brew Tasters Club — I totally just made that up…!). Love that you’re a psych with an interest in good beer. Let me suggest Great Lakes Brewing Company’s Christmas Ale and Thirsty Dog’s 12 Dogs of Christmas. Two great seasonals from my beloved state of Ohio!

    • Laura December 17, 2013 at 10:03 am #

Haha! I don’t think I’ve tried either of those, so thanks for the recs! I’m sorry I haven’t updated the beer page in quite some time…
